Avoid rude or unkind judgements of each other.
Have a space where we can trust each other. Treat others with kindness. Ask for and get help when needed. Know the job, do the job. Be ready to learn on arrival. Use appropriate language. Be creative and different. Be treated fairly by all. |
Designing a team
It started when we asked, "Why is a positive identity important? Who should we be?" We used the "care, think, design, act, share" design thinking tool to answer these questions. Through this process, we identified and agreed on our major cares as a group. These cares became our code. We then thought through how our cares might be expressed in a name, words, images, song, and movement. This led us to our name, Atlas. We then teamed up to design and make images, words, statues, and videos that proudly express our identity. We share these with you, here and now!
THE TEAM
Ashley Dubois
Ashley Dubois is in her tenth year at Main Street Middle School's Special Education department. She has also taught in Underhill, Jericho, South Burlington, and Nicaragua.

Katherine Leman
Katherine Leman is in her third year at Main Street Middle School, and in her fifth year as a teacher of Language Arts and Math.

Eli Rosenberg
Eli Rosenberg is in his 16th year at Main Street Middle School and his 21st year teaching Science and Social Studies. He has also taught in Swanton, Hardwick, and the International School of Tbilisi.
Eli believes in a hands-on, minds-on learning environment in which students develop their collaborative skills, fluency with technology, and creativity as they dig deep into the challenges of creating meaningful and sustainable lives in the 21st century. He strives to create a team culture that is oriented towards personal growth and community connection. When Eli is not working, he enjoys cooking, making art, snowboarding, and boardgames. Eli looks forward to teaching abroad again, and agrees with Steve Jobs that, "the journey is the reward." |
